About Rod Collins

Before suffering a freak brain hemorrhage in 2021 (still no known cause), I ran Compass Marine Inc.. We manufactured a line of externally regulated marine alternators, Bed-It Tape, and wired sail & power yachts for world-cruising self-sufficiency.

Due to being rendered hemiplegic (left side paralyzed) we had to close CMI. My only income now comes from marinehowto.com and reader donations to help me with the bills of stroke recovery, most of which insurance does not cover your donations also help keep this website a free source.


The site costs a lot to maintain and my wife is urging me to pull the plug on it. Help me show her that we can keep MHT alive by making a donation today.
