About Kate Lawrence
an audio producer and podcaster.
I am an independent audio producer. I have a personal podcast called Tide to the Moon, a story-filled dose of contemplation on being human.

In addition to Tide to the Moon I create high production, long form podcast series that follow a narrative through line, interwoven with history, knowledge, reflection, commentary and advocacy for how we can build a better, more equal world. 

 The integration of story and knowledge is one of the best ways to create engagement, understanding, shifts in perspective, and inspiration to act. 

My approach is to let the story lead, providing the natural stepping stones to draw listeners on to learn, and feel and want to know more. 

 The stories are set within themes, but the ideas and advocacy fall out of the stories, not the stories dropped in to illustrate the issue. 

 The stories might be from founders, activists, makers and workers; from historical figures and of course those with lived experience of injustice.

I recently stumbled across Tide to the Moon (after being a fan of Coming Home which was so moving and enlightening and beautifully told in how it wove together these different voices and stories and supporting information to explore a complicated and challenging topic in a rich and suitably complex way) and really enjoyed it. Especially the Joan of Arc series but also the organic unfolding of this idea of a sabbath and greater connection to the seasons. Thanks for sharing your voice and ideas. Engaging with your work has been so enriching for me.
