Take a look at these two pieces. Is this art?
There is an easy answer, and an underlying trivial one. We will get to the trivial in a moment. Of course this is art. It is not a photo, which is considered art. It is not a poem, which is also art. Interestingly, as the phrase goes, "a picture is worth a thousand words", and that can be applied to anything, which is also a form of art. This is not music, this is not food (culinary arts), and this is not an engineer's blueprint. Yet, all of these things, images included, have something in common. They all require a creator to set in motion, a process to achieve a composition.
Once that composition is achieved, a secondary aspect takes place, the audience. The audience, a fan, passive observer, or student all reach a similar outcome, appreciation. Once art is created, it has only reached half its potential. The second half is someone that enjoys the works being shared, either as a passerby or an owner.
Thus I ask again, are the two attached images art?
The reason for this inquiry is to share, in my opinion, the beauty this visual resulted in. Here is the kicker. They are AI assisted generated. I like to throw that word "assisted" in there because the automated process would not have generated this on its own. Yes, I am the artist that created these, with a specific combination of words.

No, I did not take out a set of paints, pencils, illustration pens, masking tape, rulers, exacto, or templates. Just a series of uncommon words that lead to experimentation. More importantly, this only took a minute of time to create. As a busy husband, working father with children, and fur babies, time is especially critical. Yet, my internal artist spirit is fulfilled. Yes, the meditative process to hand-craft this type of work would prove beneficial as well, however it could have just as easily not been created at all.
Interestingly, the word "risograph", is a type of digital duplicating used for high-volumes in photocopying and printing. A risograph printer uses a stencil template and ink system. It can only print one color at a time using a standard 'ink cartridge'. Not to mention its a bulky machine beyond my price point. Can you count the number of resources I was able to cut down simply typing a word prompt?
The adoption of AI assisted art may have a few more bumps in the road, however my passion for art experimentation will not deter from this challenge. Artists will have to reidentify their skills in this new form of curation. Moreover, and most notably, many artists were already being forced to discover an ecommerce potential. This learning curve will take time, though stubbornness will leave one behind. Once its practiced, the challenges every "starving" artist has faced, will all be laughable. The opportunities will be golden.
