Supporting urban nature in Easton, Bristol, BS5
Hello world! I’m Howard.
For the past five years I’ve been leading an urban‑nature recovery project in Bristol. After a massive clean‑up and a range of conservation measures, I'm pleased to report that nature has truly bounced back.
From badgers & bats to hedgehogs & hawks, today, the Sparrow Canteen is a thriving sanctuary for hundreds of species, and the sound of birdsong fills the neighbourhood. With that has come a verifiable decline in local crime and anti-social behaviour.
My hope is to share this model with other urban communities, turning it into a beacon of hope far beyond Bristol.
On Christmas Day I launched Sparrow Canteen: Play Games. Help Nature. This isn’t a generic Wix site or a WordPress blog—it’s an enterprise‑grade, full‑stack web application built from the ground up by someone with more than 20 years of experience in the tech industry. From a player’s perspective it’s simply an engaging portal with global reach that raises awareness about urban nature recovery.
Unlike many charitable initiatives that must secure funding before they can demonstrate impact, the Sparrow Canteen already has proven results with verifiable outcomes. I’m now looking for partners who can help take the project to the next level.
