They Took My Voice, But Not My Fire

They Took My Voice, But Not My Fire

Jul 10, 2025

My name is Southern Punk, and for the last few months, I’ve been showing up every day on TikTok—pouring my truth into a platform that claims to celebrate authenticity but punishes it in silence. On July 9, 2025, my account was banned without warning, without explanation, and without a single email. One minute I was a content creator with over 61,000 followers and 1.5 million likes; the next, I was completely erased.

No violation notice. No strike history. No final appeal outcome. Just gone.

I had followed the guidelines. I avoided all trigger words. I spoke clearly but carefully. I created original, emotionally grounded content that brought people together around truth, clarity, justice, and critical thinking. And yet, like so many others walking the thin line between truth-telling and visibility, my account disappeared in a single breath.

It didn’t just take my videos—it took my paycheck. I was already barely surviving on Creator Rewards, which doesn’t pay truth-tellers well to begin with. I made one post about Australia, and TikTok paid me one cent per thousand views. One. Cent. And now that my account is banned, they’ve frozen my Creator Rewards payout for the entire month—money I already earned through millions of views. Money I was counting on to pay bills, buy groceries, and survive. Money they’ve taken away without cause.

This wasn’t just a digital ban. This was economic violence. Silencing someone’s voice and then seizing their wages for telling the truth—that’s not moderation. That’s retribution.

I’ve filed every possible appeal. I’ve emailed every address. I’ve spoken with Creator Support. I’ve followed all the channels they tell you to use when something goes wrong. And still, silence. My account remains banned. No response. No accountability. No timeline for review. Just a waiting room with no door.

So now I’m am on TikTok on my once personal now backup account. Speaking into a smaller space, hoping that those who saw me, heard me, believed in what I was doing—will still find me.

And I’m asking for help. Because the truth is, I can’t keep doing this alone.

If you can, please go to the profile on this page to help support the work while I fight to get my voice back. I can’t place the link in my TikTok bio yet because the backup account doesn’t have 1,000 followers. But I’m hoping that changes fast. In the meantime, I’m placing the link in the comment section of every post I make. If you believe in truth-telling, if you believe in independent voices, if you believe in creators who are trying to wake people up instead of numb them out—please consider helping me stay in the fight.

Even $5 keeps the lights on. Keeps the voice alive. Keeps the front porch open for one more day.

I still have many of my videos on Instagram and YouTube under @southernpunk

I’ll keep posting there. I’ll keep showing up here. But I need your help to keep the mission alive.

TikTok took my voice. But they didn’t take my fire.

And if you’ve ever heard that fire in me, if it’s ever lit something in you—please help me keep it burning.
