Über Sonia Park
Hi, and to anyone who happened to stumble upon this page, out of curiosity, this is Sonia Park. My original name is Seohyun Park, and I was born and raised in South Korea. I’m a late-diagnosed autistic woman (formerly described as having Asperger’s), carrying a rather tremendous set of visible/invisible challenges while navigating a world that, in many ways, simply wasn’t designed with people like me in mind. And still, I believe, I have a lot I want to offer. I’m a polymath whose ambition lies in the intersections between classical music (other music genres as well), technology, philosophy, science, and the study of human nature. I identify myself a cosmopolitan without a national boundary, and I believe deeply in the freedom of thought and in the possibilities that, when we stop reducing people to the categories, we’ll design the world to make us easier to be understood. There are many of us; neurodivergent people with unconventional ways of thinking, perceiving, and connecting. But not every one of us has the luxury of making it far enough through life to discover what those differences might become. Too many of us spend our energy simply trying to survive systems built around assumptions that were never ours. So, I’m trying to build something beyond that. If anything I create, write, learn, or share ends up being meaningful to you, and you’d like to help me keep going, you can buy me a coffee here. But No obligation whatsoever, your curiosity alone is already welcome! —Sonia
