The end, for now.
It has been a while since I shared any of the recent pages/frames of my ongoing novel. Sometimes to share something also demands your time, and you then weigh whether you should use your time to work further on the novel or take time out to share what you have done. But I felt an urge to share this small bit from the novel. And who knows, maybe I will share some more stuff this year from the novel.
Last year, I visited Banaras, and one of the things I looked forward to was going to Sarnath. The place holds a special memory for me because its brief spell came at a time when I was troubled by not being able to resolve things at home, and failing to meet the expectations of my father. I was a child who believed in Gods, and how they are always looking out for you, but that belief had started to show cracks around this time. While I am still probing around with the narratives of Buddhism, the memory of being in the sprawling and open green spaces of Sarnath reminds me of the liberated feeling. It allowed me to exist free of the gazing eye of a larger power at play.
