À propos Erik Beertema and Snail in the City
Help me to keep a 2cv on the road as a rolling museum in Singapore!
Hello, Erik here, creator behind Snail in the City. I’m an active marine ships engineer on seagoing ships and a Citroën 2CV fan.
Sailing around the high seas eventually brought me to Singapore, where I got married in 2012. Since then, I have been living here with my wife and two kids.
Singapore is definitely not a car-friendly country, with sky-high costs of buying and keeping a car on the road. Most cars will be scrapped or exported after 10 years when their Certificate of Entitlement expires. Due to this, I would never have expected that in 2025 I would find an original 2CV in Singapore, first registered in 1990. A true barn find in the concrete jungle. hidden away from daylight for many years.
There are some classic cars still around, but most of them are hidden away in prized collections and rarely see daylight anymore.
My intention is to keep the 2CV on the road for everyone to enjoy. With the help of social media and documenting my daily adventures with the 2cv I do hope to get some help with keeping this car on the road for years to come.
I would truly appreciate it if you would "buy me a snail snack pack" and help keep one lonely duck on the road in the midst of skyscrapers and soaring COE levels!.
All collected donations will be put to use for the conservation for upkeeping of this rare and uncommon piece of 4 wheel history.
