Some exciting new updates from Meta this month.
1. Update on In stream ads monetization requirements.
There's been some changes on the monetization requirements for in stream ads on demand.
You only need 5000 followers now to be eligible for in stream ads on demand. (How cool is that?!)
Video views have been reverted back to 60,000 views (including all kinds of videos: uploaded, live, and previously live videos). Views from paid ads are still not counted for monetization.
Meta announces the Meta Verified feature
Here are some information on the Meta Verified feature:
Minimum requirements for verification:
- at least 18 years of age or older
- submit a government ID that matches the name and photo you have on Facebook
- only public or private profiles with your real name will be accepted for verification, for now (from Instagram, not sure if the same for Facebook)
- two-factor-authentication must be enabled on your account (from Instagram, not sure if the same for Facebook)
- must meet minimum activity requirements such as prior posting history (from Instagram, not sure if the same for Facebook)
- must meet Meta's Terms of Use and Community Guidelines (from Instagram,not sure if the same for Facebook)
Benefits for verified accounts:
get a blue badge
get extra impersonation protection against accounts claiming to be you
get direct access to customer support
exclusive stickers for Stories and Reels
will also receive 100 free stars per month that you can use to tip creators on Facebook
increased reach/visibility on IG or FB depending on the size of your existing audience and the topics of your posts
*Businesses can’t apply yet for a Meta Verified badge, for now. Only personal profiles with your original name can be verified.
* I'm still checking if creator accounts are eligible for the verification.
* Meta verified accounts can’t change their profile name, username, birthday, or profile photo without going through the verification process all over again.
* Meta verified is only available in Australia and New Zealand for now.
