A question some may have concerns the value of a non-developed story. That’s how some people see this. For me, it is the pureness and the rawness of the thoughts and ideas. That is a fascination to me, and it always has been. What are the origins of thoughts? There is pure energy there. For me that is as exciting, and maybe even more exciting than anything expanded. The spark is the value. It’s like finding a jewel. That moment.
When I was younger, I wrote a lot of songs. I never wanted to overdevelop or overproduce them. I felt that the way they came out was purposeful enough, and that there is something gorgeous about that moment of emergence that should not be perverted. That’s how a lot of stories are as well. There are nuggets there, there is some kind of reason, even when it is not known at the moment of inception. In fact, writing is very often a process of trying to decipher what we are trying to tell ourselves. Leave it alone. Let that thought be the thing it is, in that original, crystalline moment, forever.
There is no space between what is known and what is unknown. There is only that space between what is known and what is not yet experienced. Then, there is the desire to access that non-experienced space, continuously. Not only in dreams, not only in meditation, not only through inducement by some means or another. That desire to be able to reach through that space into the unseen and access it at will, at any moment; to dance on the edge of that, and that yearning to experience that access at all times; to break down the wall between your conscious mind and the subconscious mind whenever we want to.
This type of writing stimulates that relationship. The vulnerability that comes with just putting it out there is more for the explorer than for the voyeur, and… You could not resist.
