My name is Patrick, and I'm the creator of SmartTabs Organizer 🧠📑, a Chrome extension that that uses machine learning to organize browser tabs automatically by category 🤖🔍. This helps users stay more organized and focused 🤓💪, which in turns improves productivity 🚀.

I'm absolutely thrilled to see that so many people have found it helpful and have been using it 👨‍💻👩‍💻. It's amazing to see the number of users growing 📈.

About the Project

💪 Let me share with you some information about this project. 🤝 It all began because I am someone who normally has over 70 tabs open at a time, which can be quite unwieldy on smaller monitors (not to mention the amount of memory it consumes until Chrome puts the tabs to sleep). The wider my monitor, the more tabs I tend to have open. So a wider monitor was not the solution. As a software engineer with several years of experience in machine learning, I felt compelled to scratch my own itch. 💻 To that end, I created an extension that employs machine learning for grouping tabs.

🔒I place a high value on data privacy, recognizing that many people have concerns about their personal information online.  As such, I designed this extension to safeguard your privacy at all times. I do not collect any personal data, and I want to emphasize that I never log any information related to your tabs. Your data belongs solely to you and will remain that way. 👤 Even with the new "Continuous Tabs Grouping" feature that was requested, no private or user-specific data is logged.

📈 You may be curious as to why I opted not to utilize advanced language models, such as ChatGPT, for grouping tabs. 🤔 While these models may be impressive, I was mindful of the potential security implications that may arise due to privacy concerns. Therefore, I chose to employ offline algorithms for grouping, which although not without limitations, are secure and efficient. 💪 I believe that this approach strikes a balance between functionality and privacy, which ultimately benefits users.🏆

I created this extension entirely in my spare time because I wanted to offer a solution that wasn't available anywhere else. It was a labor of love, and I'm proud of what I've built.
