Hey, I'm Brad — the person behind Smart Home Secrets. I've been automating my home since a RadioShack IR motor on a teenage bedroom light switch, and I haven't stopped since. Today my setup runs 200+ automations across 2,600+ entities, and every guide on this site comes straight from that real setup in a real house.



Everything here is free and always will be. No paywalls, no sponsored reviews, no fluff dressed up as advice. Every guide takes real time — testing automations, debugging YAML, writing it all up in a way that actually makes sense. I do it because I genuinely love this stuff and because I wish something like this had existed when I was starting out.
