Hi, y'all. I'm Shelby. I've lived in North Carolina most of my life, with stops in Australia and Texas. I was a teacher, then went back to school and earned a PhD in Forestry (Environmental Resources). I worked as a public university professor for several years before deciding to try government work (I've only ever worked in public service jobs, so self-promotion isn't very natural to me). Currently, I'm pushing paper around in pursuit of clean drinking water for the citizens of North Carolina. Eventually, I plan to run a non-profit organization or write on a more full-time basis.
