I’m Siya Mchunu — a South African writer and independent journalist publishing under the banner The Whole World, Woven Into Words.

I write long-form human-interest profiles of people the culture prefers to flatten into caricature. My flagship work is the Sex Worker Visibility Project: sustained, consent-driven profiles of women working in the adult industry — companions, creators, performers — treated as complex adults with agency, intellect, and stories that challenge stigma rather than feed it. Every subject reviews and approves their piece before it goes live. Nothing is published without their sign-off.

Alongside that work I produce practical career and STEM guides, film and television criticism under the “View From the Couch” banner, sports and culture pieces, and an ongoing series on AI companions. The through-line is the same: clarity over spectacle, substance over performance, and respect for the reader’s intelligence.

I am the author of the novel The Homeless Diaries: Tales of a Broken Man (Amazon), a work of fiction exploring toxic masculinity in 21st-century South Africa. Before building this independent platform I spent years as a freelance content writer and earlier as a journalist and editor in South African print and digital newsrooms.

I operate under real constraints — including periods access and limited device time — and I am transparent about that. The work continues anyway.
