West Virginia Secretary of State Kris Warner reported on 29 October that more than 115,000 ballots have already been cast through early in-person voting and returned absentee ballots, placing the state’s early turnout roughly 30 percent higher than the same point in the 2022 midterms.

As of the close of business on Wednesday, 28 October, counties had recorded 109,902 in-person early votes and 5,953 returned absentee ballots, for a combined total of 115,855. An additional 9,584 absentee ballots had been requested. The figure represents 9.6 percent of the state’s 1,210,297 registered voters.

Warner noted that every one of West Virginia’s 55 counties is operating at least one early-voting location. Early in-person voting began on 21 October and continues through Saturday, 31 October, at 5 p.m. Election Day polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on 3 November.

Voters can locate early-voting sites and review sample ballots for all 1,677 precincts at GoVoteWV.com or through their county clerk’s office.
