Roborock Saros 10R Review (2026): The Ultra-Slim Flagship That Actually Fits Under Your Fu

Most robot vacuums still force a compromise.

Either they clean well and sit too high to go under the sofa, or they are thin enough to disappear under furniture and then struggle with real dirt, hair, or thresholds.

The Roborock Saros 10R is Roborock’s attempt to close that gap.

At a claimed 7.98 cm tall it is the brand’s thinnest machine yet, while still carrying the kind of suction, lifting chassis, and dock automation that used to belong to bulkier flagships.

This is the first piece in my consumer robotics series.

Key Specifications (Manufacturer Data)

Aircraft / Robot

• Height: 7.98 cm / 79.8 mm (Roborock’s thinnest model as of the 2025 launch window)

• Dimensions: approximately 350 × 353 × 79.8 mm

• Suction: HyperForce system rated around 20,000 Pa (regional listings vary slightly)

• Navigation: StarSight Autonomous System 2.0 (3D ToF-based mapping and obstacle recognition)

• Chassis: AdaptiLift system — chassis, main brush, side brush and mops can lift independently

• Anti-tangle: DuoDivide main brush + anti-tangle side brush (manufacturer claims 0% hair tangling rate under test conditions)

• Battery: 6,400 mAh class

• Runtime: up to around 180 minutes in quieter modes under manufacturer test conditions

Dock (Multifunctional Dock 4.0)

• Auto emptying of the dustbin into a sealed bag

• Hot-water mop washing (manufacturer figure around 80°C)

• Mop drying

• Auto mop removal / detachment for vacuum-only or carpet-first runs

• Auto detergent dosing on supported configurations

• Fast charging support (around 2.5 hours claimed)

Other practical notes

• Dual spinning mops with lift

• FlexiArm-style side brush and mop extension for edges and corners

• App control via Roborock app; voice assistant support varies by region

• Matter / multi-platform smart-home support listed on several official regional pages

Why the Height Actually Matters

A few millimetres on a spec sheet rarely feel important until you watch a robot stop short of the sofa or the bed frame.

The Saros 10R’s sub-8 cm profile is not a marketing flourish. It is the difference between cleaning the open floor and reaching the dust that collects in the places people rarely vacuum by hand. Roborock’s decision to keep the LiDAR and sensing suite while shrinking the body is the real engineering story here.

The AdaptiLift chassis extends that idea. Being able to raise the body, the mops, the main brush or the side brush independently means the machine can adapt to carpets, thresholds and mixed surfaces without dragging wet mops across rugs or getting stuck on transitions that defeat flatter robots.

Cleaning Reality Check

On paper the combination of roughly 20,000 Pa suction, dual anti-tangle brushes and dual spinning mops looks strong. In practice the anti-tangle system is the feature that will matter most to households with long hair or shedding pets. Roborock’s own test claims of zero tangling are laboratory figures, but the mechanical design (split main brush and rising side brush) is a genuine attempt to reduce the weekly maintenance that still frustrates many owners of otherwise capable robots.

Mopping remains a secondary strength rather than the primary reason to buy. The hot-water washing and auto-drying dock reduce the hygiene objections that used to make people switch mop pads by hand. Auto mop detachment is useful for homes that want vacuum-only runs on certain days or carpet-heavy zones. It does not turn the machine into a deep scrubber that replaces a dedicated wet cleaner, and no honest review should claim it does.

The Dock Is Half the Product

At this price level the dock is no longer an accessory. The Multifunctional Dock 4.0 handles emptying, washing, drying, detergent dosing and mop management. That is the feature set that actually removes work from the owner’s week. If the dock is noisy, unreliable, or requires frequent bag and filter changes, the whole system loses its point. Roborock’s recent docks have generally been among the more complete in the category; the Saros 10R continues that direction.

Who This Robot Is For

The Saros 10R makes the most sense for mixed-floor homes that have low furniture and enough budget to prioritise a complete self-maintaining system. Owners who have previously been forced to choose between a thin robot that could not mop properly and a tall flagship that left dust under the sofa will feel the difference most clearly.

It is less ideal if pure suction power or the absolute highest mopping pressure is the only priority (later Saros 20 variants push those numbers further), or if the budget is better spent on a simpler, cheaper robot that still covers 80% of the need. It is also not a quiet, invisible appliance. High-suction runs and dock cycles still make noise; the convenience is real, but the machine does not disappear into the background completely.

Verdict

The Roborock Saros 10R is a focused flagship. It does not try to be the most powerful suction robot on the market or the most aggressive mopper. It tries to be the one that can actually go where the dirt is while still offering the full dock automation that makes daily use sustainable.

That combination — ultra-slim body, competent cleaning hardware, and a dock that does real work — is still relatively rare. For households that have been waiting for a thin robot that does not feel like a compromise, this is one of the clearer answers currently available. For everyone else, the decision will come down to whether the extra reach under furniture and the reduced hair-tangling maintenance justify the flagship price against more conventional (and often cheaper) options.

As with every robot vacuum, the real test is your own floor plan, your own furniture heights, and your own tolerance for maintenance. The specifications and design choices, however, are coherent. Roborock has not simply shrunk an older model. It has built a machine whose proportions and feature set finally match the way many modern homes are actually laid out.
