Month 10: When Old Coping Tries to Come Back

You can be doing really well...

and then one stressful situation hits.

Suddenly you want to eat.

Text them again.

Shut down.

Overwork.

Fix everything.

Disappear.

And then comes the thought:

"I thought I was past this."

But what if the old urge showing up doesn't mean you've lost your progress?

What if it's actually an opportunity to practice what you've learned?

This month inside Gutty Girl Connections, we're talking about the moment between the trigger and the choice.

We're identifying:

• The old coping patterns we reach for
• The early signals that show up before the behavior
• How Fear Thoughts keep the pattern going
• What a Favor Thought actually is
• How Favor Thinking is different from toxic positivity
• How to create a response plan before you're overwhelmed
• And how to make a different choice without shaming yourself for having the urge in the first place

Because the goal isn't to never be triggered again.

The goal is to know what to do when you are.

And sometimes the most powerful part of recovery is the moment you pause and ask:

"Is this a Fear Thought or a Favor Thought?"

Then choose again.

I went deeper into this month's lesson, including a real-life response plan you can use when an old coping pattern tries to take over.
