When Mountains Let Go

When Mountains Let Go

Sep 17, 2025

imageAn avalanche in Northern Pakistan mirrored the collapse I’ve been feeling inside.

It started with stillness—

not peaceful, not quiet,

but heavy.

Like something holding its breath.

Like I was.

Then—release.

I stood there, phone in hand, as a mountainside let go.

Snow and ice roared into motion: violent, loud, absolute.

I didn’t flinch.

Because my body knew that feeling.

It wasn’t destruction.

It was relief.

These weeks in the Karakoram stripped me bare.

No breakdowns—just a quiet undoing.

The pressure of months finally had space to fall apart.

Avalanches don’t only destroy.

They clear.

They uncover.

They create room for things that never had a chance to grow.

That’s what this is for me:

a letting go

—of old roles

—of expectations

—of all.

And I’m not rushing to rebuild.

I’m learning to sit in the aftermath,

eyes open,

to notice what still blooms.

If something inside you feels like it’s cracking,

maybe it’s not the end.

Maybe it’s the start—

of truth, of freedom, of your own wild shape.
