Astrology with the REAL Star Constellations
Which Planet Represents the Actor on the Stage?

Today I am sharing another chapter from my newly written book. This chapter touches one of the biggest misunderstandings in astrology: the habit of saying “I am…” followed by the sign in which the Sun is placed in the horoscope.
Western astrology is now about 28 degrees apart from the real star constellations. This means that when we look at the actual sky, the picture can be very different from what most people have been taught.
An “I AM” statement is powerful. It is not just a casual sentence. It is a creative declaration. What we say after “I AM” is the energy we pour into life, and therefore the energy we begin to manifest.
For example, if someone says, “I am a Taurus,” they may spend their whole life identifying with and projecting this energy, even if it is not truly aligned with the real star constellation of their birth, or with the deeper curriculum of their life.
This is why it is so important to look more carefully. The Sun is not simply the whole identity, but represents the consciousness. In the language of astrology, it is one important part of the inner stage. But the question remains: Which planet represents the actor on the stage?
Gemini
The Symbol:
The symbol of Gemini, two parallel vertical lines framed by two horizontal crescents bending in opposite directions, represents the final split from the wholeness of Unity as consciousness enters the world of air: the realm of the mind.
The two vertical lines can also be seen as the twin pillars of Jachin and Boaz, known from the Temple of Solomon and reflected in the imagery of the Tarot’s Major Arcana. They mark the threshold between worlds, a gateway through which consciousness passes from Unity into polarity.
The innocence of the beginning is no longer present.
The intellect is born.
With this, we begin to build the mind and experience the world through polarity, developing the capacity to “make up” our minds. Gemini’s signature reflects this decisive entrance into a realm that ultimately leads into duality.
The mind functions like a double-edged sword. It operates within a binary system: everything appears as either–or. Within this framework, Unity is no longer directly accessible, nor can it be fully comprehended by the mind.
This gradually leads to a forgetting of our true nature within the relativity of time. In symbolic language, this is reflected in the story of partaking of the fruit of knowledge in the Garden of Eden. The human being “falls from grace”, a movement from polarity into duality, into the experience of material existence, judgment, and separation.
Duality arises, and with it the tendency toward judgment:
good and bad, right and wrong.
Polarity is a natural aspect of existence once consciousness experiences itself as separate from Unity. It simply expresses complementary forces: light and dark, inhalation and exhalation, expansion and contraction. There is no judgment in polarity itself.
The moment the mind begins to interpret, compare, and identify, duality is born. What simply is becomes divided into what is perceived as good or bad, right or wrong.
People begin to talk things over, to exchange ideas and develop different opinions according to their individual experiences. They observe others, and with that, judgment enters: comparison, criticism, and gossip.
Suddenly, the opinion of others becomes important, and the ego-self awakens. We begin to worry about what others might think or say about us, and a need for reassurance arises.
If we look deeper, it is here that the “personification” of the human truly begins. Before this stage, experience was still innocent and playful. Now, duality, symbolized by the fruit of knowledge, becomes the filter through which we perceive reality.
We move from pure experience to communication.
Gemini is not who we are, it is how the soul learns to express itself in human form.
Everything else unfolds from here.
As human beings, we hold several layers at once:
Mercury as the human persona
Gemini, the field of communication
communication as a garment of the soul
language as a creative force of materialization
and the subtle danger of identification instead of expression and experience

Ruling Planet: Mercury
In mythology, Mercury, known as Hermes in the Greek tradition, is described as the son of Zeus and Maia. Because Zeus’ wife Hera was deeply jealous, Hermes’ conception remained hidden.
After his birth, Hermes grew with astonishing speed and, within a single day, left his mother Maia.
He soon discovered the shell of a tortoise and crafted a lyre from it. Without any learning, he was able to play the instrument with remarkable skill. On that very same day, he stole the cattle of his half-brother Apollo, the legitimate son of Zeus.
Through cleverness and imaginative deception, Hermes managed to conceal the theft for some time. And when it was eventually discovered, he defended himself with such wit and charm that even Zeus had to smile, and forgave him.
Throughout his “career,” Hermes displayed many such talents: intelligence, adaptability, and a playful mastery of words and perception. In the end, he was given the title:
Messenger of the Gods.
As a messenger, he was always in between, the one who sends and receives, yet remains untouched by the content of the message itself.
Of course, knowing Hermes, there was occasionally a bit of “creative adjustment,” as he is also the patron of commerce and thieves, a reflection of his extraordinary communicative abilities.
Mercury/Hermes stands as an outsider, navigating the space between the established order of the gods and the world of human beings. Humor, adaptability, and skillful communication, sometimes including a touch of deception, were essential for his survival.
The symbol of Mercury, representing communication, is composed of three parts: a crescent above a circle, which rests upon a cross.
The crescent, open upward, represents the soul, the receptive aspect, attuned not only to inspiration from the “heavens,” the Higher Self, or spirit, but to all forms of input. It receives impressions from life itself: experiences, encounters, what we call learning, and even the simple act of memorizing.
The circle symbolizes spirit reflected within the mind, the field in which incoming impressions are processed. Through reflection and inner movement, the mind translates inspiration, and experience, into thought.
The cross in the symbol represents matter, or materialization. Here, it expresses the end result of the mental process, manifesting as the spoken or written word, as well as any other form of expression or creation.
An inspiration is received, processed within the mind, and formed into a thought, which then becomes externalized through expression. This “input” can also be understood more broadly as any form of creative manifestation in our lives.
Looking more closely, we begin to recognize more clearly that Mercury can be seen as the representative of the human being. Certainly not the Sun, which symbolizes pure consciousness but has no direct means of expression.
This reflects precisely how we, as human beings, function. We receive “input” through life, process it within consciousness, and then act or react. In this way, something is always being manifested, on different levels. It may take as communication, materialize into form, or it may express itself emotionally.
As an example, we can imagine steam cooling into water, and eventually manifesting in its most condensed form as ice. In a similar way, inspiration is received by the mind, processed into thought, and finally expressed, either as a tangible manifestation in the physical world of 3D polarity, or in a more fluid form, such as an emotional response to the “input.”
Let us return for a moment to the story of Adam and Eve.
It is Eve who takes the “apple.” She represents the feminine aspect of the whole, as introduced at the beginning of relative time in Aries. The feminine is the receptive principle, and this has nothing to do with the concepts of man and woman. All receiving in the universe occurs through the feminine aspect, the Yin within both man and woman.
Eve accepts the “apple” from the serpent, and with this, knowledge emerges, a knowledge that creates separation.
Polarity unfolds: positive and negative, Yin and Yang, light and dark, good and bad. These opposites are not only experienced but begin to be judged by the individual, as ego-consciousness arises.
The serpent biting its own tail is known as the Ouroboros, an ancient symbol representing eternity, cycles, and the unity of life and death. It signifies both self-destruction and renewal, the eternal movement of dissolution and re-creation, the spiral of existence.
This symbol appears across many cultures, expressing infinity and the underlying unity of opposites.
Now we arrive at one of the key insights hidden within mythology:
In the biblical story, the serpent has “uncoiled” itself and descends along the tree. It no longer represents the circle of unity, but polarity.
This movement is reflected symbolically in the Tarot, particularly in the Minor Arcana of the Swords, where the realm of mind, division, and discernment is portrayed.
Due to widespread misinterpretations of mythology, the apple came to be seen as a forbidden fruit, and thus women were labeled as the “carriers of sin” within the moral doctrines of many religions.
Yet, simple logic reveals that in a state of pure polarity and experience, as described in Taurus, in what is called paradise, there can be no prohibition, no judgment, and no rules. Therefore, nothing can truly be forbidden.
In the symbol of Mercury, we see the receptive crescent of the moon united with the active, creative mind, represented by the circle, which gives rise to expression. This expression, symbolized by the cross, manifests as any form of creation that communicates meaning, as mentioned before.
The word becomes an entity.
Every manifestation is a new creation, carrying aspects of its origin, yet also expressing qualities of its own within the third-dimensional realm. In other words, spirit, received by the soul and processed through the mind, manifests in matter, allowing us to become co-creators of life in physical existence, in partnership with the Divine.
Gemini, as an archetype, is androgynous, as all air signs are in their higher expression, because they contain both polarities of Yin and Yang. However, in classical Western (Tropical) Astrology, the active Yang quality of Gemini is often emphasized, while the receptive Yin aspect remains largely unrecognized, as it is less visible.
When we follow this discernment, it becomes clear that Mercury is the planetary principle that reflects how a human being acts and expresses in life.
Depending on the sign and house in which Mercury is positioned at the moment of birth, a specific pattern of expression emerges, a personality profile through which life is experienced and manifested.
Yet this is not to be confused with identity.
We are not Mercury. Just as it would be limiting to identify with the Sun sign, it would make little sense to shift that identification onto Mercury or its placement.
Rather, Mercury offers a key to innerstanding the persona, the way a human being expresses, responds, and creates.
Its position reveals how this expression is shaped, and what kind of role is played upon the stage of the world in this lifetime.
The Third House:
The subject here is communication and expression.
As long as the soul rested in Divine Unity, it was silent, complete, there was no need to communicate. But once we have tasted the “fruit of knowledge” and entered the world of polarity, communication becomes inevitable.
We are compelled to express, to exchange, to relate.
Communication can be the beginning of misunderstanding, as it carries the tendency to judge, compare, and discriminate. No communication is ever truly neutral. It always arises from the perspective of a persona, shaped by the experiences, beliefs, and opinions of an individual.
The mind is doing exactly what it was designed to do. It interprets. The problem begins when interpretation is mistaken for absolute truth.
Yet at the same time, it opens the door to humor, connection, and the development of comprehension. From discernment arises evolution, learning, education, and the refinement of skills.
If we momentarily step beyond judgment, even concepts such as theft can be perceived differently. The “thief” may be seen as one who redistributes what has accumulated excessively, creating movement between “too much” and “too little.”
From a symbolic perspective, attachment can sometimes become so strong that life creates circumstances which force a release. If a person is unable or unwilling to let go, the experience of loss may become the very lesson that restores movement. In this sense, even a thief can be viewed as part of a larger process, not as a moral ideal, but as an agent through which attachment is challenged and a new stage of experience becomes possible.
Spiritually speaking, after the phase of gathering and holding in the Second House, we move into the complementary experience of exchange, movement, and letting go in the Third House.
If there is strong attachment to possessions and resistance to this next step, life may create situations that enforce release. What is perceived as loss can, in this sense, be part of a larger balancing process, one that operates beyond personal judgment.
In the midst of the seriousness and drama of human life, Mercury’s sense of humor and playfulness is a great gift. It allows us to move through our journey with more ease.
At the same time, balance is essential, so that this lightness does not slip into the one-sided extremes of the gambler or the trickster who loses awareness.
We create patterns and belief systems according to our experiences. In this way, words open the door to separation, labeling, and comparison. If something is believed to be one thing, it is naturally excluded from being anything else.
Through this process, polarity, duality, and judgment arise.
As we enter the realm of mind, intellect, and thought, a split occurs. The sense of wholeness fades, and we feel the need to define, explain, and discuss, to “figure things out.”
The thinking mind seeks to focus on one aspect and define it as true. Yet later, it may perceive the opposite and recognize that as true as well. In this way, the mind moves between perspectives, revealing that what it grasps is always relative, never absolute.
Try a simple experiment:
Sit in a room with another person, positioned opposite each other, so that you are naturally looking in different directions. Each of you then writes a short description of the space.
When you compare your descriptions, you will likely find that they are so different it seems as if you were sitting in two entirely different rooms.
This illustrates how the mind interprets reality through its own filter.
Here, we encounter one of our first conscious experiences of separation. The mind creates distinctions, and with them, the sense of being divided. In symbolic language, this is the “fall from paradise.”
As Eckhart Tolle writes in his book A New Earth:
“If we look more deeply into humanity’s ancient religions and spiritual traditions, we will find that underneath the many surface differences there are two core insights that most of them agree on. The words they use to describe those insights differ, yet they all point to a twofold fundamental truth. The first part of this truth is the realization that the ‘normal’ state of mind of most human beings contains a strong element of what we might call dysfunction or even madness.”
And yet, the recognition of this “dysfunction” is also the beginning of awakening.
