I learned to play chess from my grandad at a young age and was hooked ever since. I still play daily, although I'm not sure my grandad would approve of me playing nothing but 1:0 bullet, he was more of a classical guy.

But I've long had the idea for a hidden deployment chess variant. My fiancé and I would pinch a sheet of paper in the fold of our physical chess board and manually play basic Shroud that way.

But soon the idea expanded past what could be played with a regular over the board chess set - custom deployment of any pieces (within the standard 39 points of material budget), and then fog-of-war.

So despite having no developer experience, I did my best to create Shroud. Not to make a profit, but to share what I think is a fun and unique game with people who may enjoy it.

While I'm happy to absorb the cost of development, servers, and hosting, any support at all is greatly appreciated!
