CURRENT PROJECTS:

She Speaks Volumes: explores the history, philosophy, and ideology of feminism. You are probably  familiar with  Virginia Woolf’s A Room of One’s Own (1928), and you may have heard of but never read, Christine de Pizan’s City of Ladies (1405), and some authors may be new to you, such as Tulia d’Aragona’s Dialogue on the Infinity of Love (1547). The podcast examines playwrights, philosophers, artists, poets, scientists, economists, novelists to discover if there is a way of breaking free from our inherited patriarchal, and colonial mindset by examining historical and contemporary feminism.

The Amuseum: The Amuseum is about ideas. The podcast asks questions such as: Is magic real? Really real? Can I prove it? What is consciousness? And is everything conscious? Is there a way to prove that? Why are puppets so compelling? Why does murdering a puppet feel wrong?  What do fairytales, legends and myths say about us? How did tales told by old women to small children survive and still have meaning for us today? What exactly is meaning and why are we meaning-seeking creatures? Why are some words not translatable? Does this mean that what the words stand for are also not translatable?  I document my questions, experimentations, and explorations in podcasts in The Amuseum podcast. I don’t always find answers,  but I do find interesting people that have immersed themselves in the same questions, and the possibilities are intriguing. 

Series 1 is all about Magic. I am using the well known definition of magic by Dion Fortune “magic is the art of changing consciousness at will” as a starting point to explore what magic is, what is the art of magic? What is consciousness? And what is will, and is it really free?

Red Skirt: A shadow puppet film based on the poem Red Skirt by poet and artist Ariel O'Sullivan. The poem and film explore sexual desire, romantic notions, the reality of responsibility and the lure of breaking free from the expectations of others.
