Wagas, a well-known restaurant chain among expats in China, that was founded in 1999 by John Christensen, a Danish entrepreneur, and Jackie Yun, an Australian partner, in Shanghai.
The restaurant specializes in healthy light food, such as salads, sandwiches, pasta, juices, and coffee and has expanded to more than 250 stores in 12 major cities across China. It also operates a bakery chain called Baker & Spice, which provides fresh breads, pastries, and cakes for Wagas and its customers.
Last year, Wagas was acquired by Advent International, a private equity firm, for a controlling stake.
