Surprisingly, Millennials didn’t start the coffee craze. In fact, the craze was all thanks to a Greek servant, named Pasqua Roseé, who introduced the caffeinated drink to London’s first coffeehouse in 1652.

Centuries later, the nation is spoiled with a variety of the world’s finest drinks, right at their fingertips. Despite knowing what drink you intend to purchase upon your visit to a coffee shop, choosing a coffee machine is a completely different ballgame. It’s like your mind becomes overwhelmed with the sight of technical terms, brands and dare we say, pricing; all of which stalls your ability to make an informed decision. But what if there was an easier way to pick a machine?

Rather than bore you with all the technical specs and reviews of different models, we’ve taken matters into our own hands and instead, offered guidance in accordance with your personality traits.

If you’re stuck on what to buy, carry on reading to find out if the type of coffee machine you were thinking of purchasing is going to suit you down to a T?

Coffee machine type: Espresso

Related personality traits: Confident, straight to the point, knows what they want

Like an espresso coffee machine, there’s no messing around. No frills, no sweetness, you like your answers straight to the point (exactly like an espresso!). You don’t care how it comes across, you take everything on the chin and nothing phases you. Your dominant personality is alluring, yet you may come across as a little too sharp to others. You may not be to everyone’s taste but who cares? It certainly doesn’t phase you because you're strong enough to deal with anyone’s opinions.

Coffee machine type: Filter

Related personality traits: Introvert, compassionate and occasionally impulsive

You enjoy helping others and love the comfort of your own home. Your heart is filled with compassion and without realising it, people can warm to you quite easily. You’re a coffee cup half full type of person and people always expect you to be there, however you don’t pour your help to any old person. You enjoy your own time and space and know how, and when, to set your limits. There will be occasions where your bold personality is often misconstrued as a mean streak, but you always manage to water down the tension and leave nothing but a sweet taste in their mouth.

Coffee machine type: Pod

Related personality traits: Efficient, laidback, lives in the moment

Although some people may mistake your broad horizons for indecisiveness, that doesn’t phase you. You’re that laid back, you’re practically horizontal. Like a pod coffee machine, you pick your coffee based on your mood. There are no limitations with regards to your skill set, you get what you want without the faff. Most importantly, you enjoy life regardless of what it throws at you. Nothing influences your decisions and other people’s mood very rarely affects your own as you’re too in the moment to care about what anyone else thinks.

Coffee machine type: Bean to cup

Related personality traits: Confident, hardworking and innovative

Like a bean to cup machine, there’s no end to your talents. You’re always willing to learn and won’t let anyone, or anything, get in the way of achieving your goals. A very good multi-tasker, there’s not one trick you can’t do, or at least, wing. You’re happy to try new flavours and are always on the lookout for something new to achieve.

Coffee machine type: Pot of Tea

Related personality traits: Grounded, old-fashioned and easily overwhelmed

Some may say you’re stuck in your ways, however, you just know what you like. Why go for the finest coffee machines when deep down, you love your cups of tea? Self-assured and although not easily swayed, you can be easygoing and will fully enjoy any adventure-seeking activity that comes your way. That said, there are times when you feel a little overwhelmed by other people’s opinions, but don’t let that phase you. Stick to what you know best and you can’t go wrong.
