About Self Sufficient Me
A retired army veteran, I've been a "gardening/lifestyle" content creator since 2011, sharing my experiences and knowledge on growing food at home and practical DIY through my website and social channels called Self Sufficient Me.
I retired from the army to become a home dad and look after my two boys because my wife and I decided that stability at home for our children was more important than money, so we took the pay cut and survived mostly on my wife's income. It was hard financially, but we were happier.
To save money, I started growing food at home and realised that it helped us tremendously! And then I understood how nature and gardening had many other benefits. I started sharing my journey online and somehow fell into a new career just in time when my boys didn't need me as much, and I would have had to find a job as an old army vet with several impairments on account of my service. In other words, I was unemployable...
But, thanks to the kind people in the world like you who give creators like me support through platforms such as Buy Me a Coffee, I was able (and still am able) to continue being a creator and help others succeed at growing healthy organic food at home and become more self-sufficient and less reliant on the system.
