When inspektör had reached the handle of the office door, a couple Åström's tanner worker gave him a quite nasty look when they passed him. The gossips of finding the beautiful young woman's body from the salt shed at the marketplace and the speculations of the mysteries about her fate, had indeed widespreaded in the city of Oulu and also its near rural municipalities. And at least in the city of Oulu every one knew who was in charche of investigation this ”lady of the salt shed” case.
Johannson stepped in from the side door and from there headed his steps on the strait stairs for upstairs. He didn't dare to walk through from the front doors even though he was on the official police duty. After all the front doors were ment to walk for businessmans and for the direktörs from themselves. In Johannson's own mind it would have been arrogant act from himself to rush inside from those doors. There were of course those people who wouldn't mind to do that, or at least they declared in they loud speaks to do that, but Johannson appreciated discreetness and decency with his work. At the end of the stairs lied a narrow simple door which led to the office and in there Johansson stopped in front of the bokhållare's working desk.
