I started Seattle Ballet Journal in 2024 to capture fleeting moments, and to help make artists feel seen for the extraordinary work that they do. I never expected for it to become my biggest passion, or for it to blossom into such fulfilling work. Writing about dance is an act of love that requires time, as well as resources to make that precious writing time available. I have found that on average, it can take over 20 hours to research, draft, and edit a review of 2,500 words.
