Post and Ghost Is Not a Marketing Plan

A seasoned real estate agent can keep a conversation going through a showing, a listing appointment, and a closing delay. But a comment on their real estate video gets a lonely thumbs-up and six days of silence.

We spend all that time figuring out what to post, recording it, and deciding whether our face is doing something weird.

Then somebody actually responds.

And we leave them standing in our digital lobby.

You don’t need to live on social media. You do need to participate in the conversation you started.

That’s how people get to experience the person behind the posts: someone who listens, explains, and pays attention.

Here are three ways to make engagement part of your routine:

1. Reply with something people can respond to.
“Thanks!” is polite. It also closes the conversation.

When someone says your homebuyer tip helped, try: “Glad that cleared it up. Which part of buying still feels confusing?”

Keep it relevant. This is a conversation, not an interrogation.

2. Leave comments that prove you paid attention.
Respond to something specific in their post. Celebrate the milestone. Share a useful thought.

Pasting “Great post!” everywhere has all the personality of a receipt.

3. Give it a small, regular place in your day.
Set aside ten minutes to reply to comments and participate in a few conversations. A manageable routine is easier to maintain when clients, inspections, and actual life need you.

A comment isn’t automatically a client. But ignoring someone gives the conversation nowhere to go.

Posting opens the door. Replying welcomes people in.
