I Tried It! Nothing Happened!

I Tried It! Nothing Happened!

A listing post on Monday, a real estate video three weeks later, then silence until the next closing. That’s a scattered approach to real estate marketing, but it often gets judged like a strategy that failed.

“I tried social media. Nothing happened.”

I understand the frustration. You already have showings, inspections, and clients who think “one quick question” is a unit of time.

Posting takes effort. Getting little response makes it easy to stop.

But when you disappear between posts, people get fewer chances to recognize your name, hear your expertise, and understand why they should call you.

Before declaring social media dead, give it something to work with.

One: Pick a schedule you can actually keep.
Two useful posts a week is a starting point. Build a rhythm that fits your business instead of promising daily content and vanishing by Thursday.

Two: Repeat your message, not just your listings.
Answer the buyer and seller questions you hear every week. One post cannot show everything you know, and everybody did not see it the first time.

Three: Look beyond the likes.
Track replies, questions, profile visits, and conversations. Those help you see what’s connecting. Adjust based on a pattern, instead of letting one quiet post write the obituary.

Consistency doesn’t guarantee clients. It gives your content enough opportunities to build familiarity and gives you enough information to improve.
