Icy Day in Georgia

Icy Day in Georgia

Jan 25, 2026

image As I sit here on my couch bundled up with a dog on my lap and looking out the window watching the icicles on the trees, I reflect on God and the hope he provides. Even when things feel overwhelming, we have hope in Gods plan and promises for our lives. Tonight’s video is diving deeper into Lamentations 3:19-33 which I’m referring to as the “oasis of hope” in a dessert of suffering and turmoil. Lamentations is a hard book to read, partially because of the horrible things the Israelites endured during the siege of Babylon, but also on how it feels like it reflects some of the hardships we endure in modern day. God didn’t forsake the Israelites and he hasn’t forgotten us. Our devotional for the month is aptly titled “It’s Okay to Cry”. I encourage you to read it and remind yourself that it’s okay to feel all the emotions and it’s okay to mourn and feel sorrow. There is a time to mourn, but in the new day God’s mercies are renewed. His love never fails.
