Hi, Sean. This tutorial is GREAT! I just started using LibreOffice. I used to use FileMaker Pro a lot for home and business use, but when they changed to an annual license fee price structure, I decided it was WAY too expensive for my home needs (I retired a few years ago). I've got home security, home automation, and home temperature monitoring systems that all use batteries. I must have 40 or 50 devices that are battery powered, each with a life expectancy of one to five years. Not all systems notify me when battery life is getting low. So I was looking for a way to track battery information (system, location, battery manufacturer, battery model, initial voltage, ending voltage, and date installed). Excel on the Mac is poor at this because of the lack of relational tables, but Base is perfect. I'm amazed at how much power and how many features it has. I fumbled around with it for a while, then throught "I've got to find a decent tutorial to learn this," and then found your tutorial. It fit the bill perfectly. I'm rusty on my SQL and need to brush up on that now. Thanks for putting this together. One pointer -- I followed along on the YouTube tutorial (in a new browser tab) while building out the database in LO Base. You talk rather fast, so I set the playback speed at 0.5 and hit "Pause" often. Unfortunately, every time I switch away from YT back to LO and then go back to YT, it has shrunk your tutorial window and I have to click "full screen" again. Not your fault, but switching back and forth and resizing the video window is a pain in the neck. Maybe there's a better way to do this that I haven't discovered. Thanks again!
