Sometimes is Fun to Just Be the Hunter
There is no doubt that generating a big pile while activating a park is a major part of the fun of POTA. However it's not the only fun way to play the game for me.
Sometimes I won't spot myself or even call CQ. Sometimes its nice to just enjoy a beautiful day on a park bench and listen to others call CQ.
If I have the time available, I like to take this approach when I can when I'm off on one of the local hiking trails getting some exercise. Throwing a QRP kit in a day back and casually hunting other parks, for me is very enjoyable. Especially when the fall colors are starting to pop.
My above pin location is wrong. I forgot to update the grid square in HAMRS to where I was on the trail. Lou K4HNH (YouTube's Hikin' n' Hammin') was at a 2'fer with Pink KQ4CRY. Unfortunately I wasn't recording at the time of that QSO.
