I usually don't make install or "builder" style YouTube videos
If you managed to suffer through this one, you know why. But since my last video on this power pole kit was well receive and has been view more than most of my videos, I figured I should make this follow up. Since.... I showed the kit install on my radio incorrectly.
Jason is a good dude!
The creator of this FT 891 power pole kit is a great guy! I made the original video without reaching out to him first. I stumbled across is above linked video, then order the kit. I thought is was great and made a video for your YouTube.
Since I'm such a small channel, I didn't really give it much thought after that. But for whatever reason, this video took off can got a lot more views than normal. Including a view from Jason thanking me for spreading the word. I told him hopefully a real ham radio YouTuber will find his product and may a good video that would get him more traffic.
Then a few days later, I received another email from Jason letting me know that, from my vide, it looked like I installed my kit wrong.
So here we are again
And that is why I made an installation video. I figured since I inadvertently showed the world Jason's great kit install wrong, I should make a quick follow up showing how to install it right.
This kit rocks
I've now had Jason's kit installed on my FT 891 for a few months now and I still think it's one of the most well thought out mods I've seen. It almost looks factory. The form, fit and function as nothing short of spectacular. Very well thought out design.
If you have an 819 and use power pole connectors, do yourself a favor and get one of these! They just plain rock.
