I Made The News!!!

I Made The News!!!

Nov 07, 2022

I thought it was time I started doing a bit of writing on here. To be honest I never really know what to say at time and if you know me you will find that hard to believe lol

Something happened a few weeks ago when I woke up to one of my Youtube video having a surge of activity on it. I couldn't work it out and sometimes as a Youtuber you just hit an algorithm within the youtube platform and the video starts to make moves. I was delighted and watched the numbers go up for a while.

A comment then came in saying they had seen my video on an article in the news

What Do You Mean??!!...The News!!!...What had I done??

So I threw in some keywords into good old Google and found the magazine and news website Glasgow Live had put a feature together of the abandoned shopping precinct that I had filmed in.

I was called an 'Urban Explorer' Wow never thought of myself as that before. I just find places and see what happens. I woudl say I'm an 'explorer' for sure but no place is off limits for me and my camera.

Everyday is an adventure lol

What an amazing surprise. They never told me or asked but tbh I'm glad it shone a light on the place

This is the whole point of my channel - bringing places that are either out of the way, o ff the tourist trail or topics or places that are just needing some attention

It is a little bittersweet however, as it annoys me that there is so many places that are like this in Scotland and around the world tbh that are in dire need of attention. These were shops and people livelihoods and not only that but it was part of the community and a place for people to say hello to each other or catch up on all the areas gossip.

The shopping precinct is near the newly revamped Burrell Collection and there couldn't be a bigger contrast although its now being made into flats and houses but as I always say there can be a million homes but nothing to do in these areas it becomes run down again. I do hope these will be affordable home for young people and families to make happy memories in and to have great adventures in.

Time will only tell.
