I've just published a very personal story on Scheerwonder Living, one that has been living in my memory for more than fifty years.
When I was a little girl in Brookdale, California, I lived in a tiny red cabin beside Clear Creek, surrounded by towering redwoods.
It was one of the happiest times of my childhood.
But directly across the creek stood an enormous abandoned cabin that none of us children wanted to approach.
There was something unsettling about it.
Recently, while researching my childhood home, I discovered that the cabin is still standing, looking remarkably similar to the way I remember it.
That discovery inspired me to finally write The Cabin Across Clear Creek.
It's part childhood memoir, part mystery, and a little bit of Halloween magic.
