Beloveds,
there are seven books in the Speak, Mamacita collection.
seven stories. seven chapters of a life i spent years trying to make sense of, shrink from, survive. but before the stories, there were people.
people who loved me and failed me. people who violated me and gaslit me. people who held me and left me. people who died before i was ready. people who showed me — by being exactly who they were — exactly who i refused to keep becoming.
i gave them all code names. not to protect them. but because this is my story, and i get to decide how they're named in it.
this blog series — The Characters — introduces them one by one. a post for each person. enough of the story to make you feel it. a link to the full book if you want to go deeper.
some of these posts will be heavy. some will make you think of someone in your own life — someone you've never named out loud, never stopped carrying.
that's the point.
