🏠 i built an app for us

Beloveds,

🏠 i built an app for us

i tried to post it on my whatsapp status.

screenshots of each section. a few notes. just to show people what it was.

i got three slides in and stopped. not because there wasn't enough to say β€” because there was too much. and a status can't hold it.

so here we are.

the app is called Hearthstone.

the tagline is: everything you need to run your household. one app. nothing scattered.

i built it because i was tired. not the kind of tired that sleep fixes. the kind that comes from holding too much in your head at once β€” bills due, what's in the fridge, who has a doctor's appointment, what the budget looks like, when the subscriptions renew, whose shoes need replacing, what size they even wear now.

that's not disorganisation. that's the mental load. and it's real, and it's heavy, and most of us have been carrying it across fifteen different apps and notes and group chats and the notes app and our own memory like that's a sustainable system.

it's not.

here's what's inside Hearthstone:

πŸ’° the budget section runs on the Sanctuary Purse method β€” every time income comes in, it automatically splits into four purses: Yours First (10%), Cost of Living (60%), Business Operations (20%), Debt & Future Assets (10%). you see exactly where you are in each purse at a glance. no more guessing. no more math in your head at the supermarket.

🧾 bills β€” everything in one place, sorted by due date, colour-coded by urgency. you know what's overdue, what's coming, what's paid.

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦ member profiles β€” one card per person in your household. sizes, food allergies, dietary preferences, medical info, school details, permission slips, RSVPs. all the invisible data you're currently holding in your head? it lives here now.

🩺 health records β€” vaccinations, medical visits, insurance info, emergency contacts. the stuff you scramble for when you actually need it.

πŸ“… important dates β€” birthdays pull automatically from member profiles. add anything else. never forget again.

🧹 chores β€” assigned, tracked, done. no more asking who's supposed to do what.

πŸ“’ contacts β€” your household address book. family, school, doctors, tradespeople. tap to call on mobile.

πŸ”„ subscriptions β€” every recurring payment, what it costs, when it renews. your total monthly spend visible at the top.

🚨 emergency info β€” one page. everything critical. always accessible.

πŸ›’ meal planner + pantry β€” plan the week, build the shopping list, check things off as you shop and they automatically move to your pantry. you always know what's in the house.

πŸŒ™ cycle tracker β€” private to you. log, track, predict. your data, nobody else's.

πŸ”¨ home projects β€” everything you're building, fixing, planning. tracked in one place.

🎯 goals β€” personal, financial, family. with progress notes so you can see how far you've come.

i've been using it myself.

it's not perfect yet β€” i'm still testing, still finding what needs to shift. but even in this early stage it's already done something i didn't expect: it quieted something. that low hum of "what am i forgetting" that runs in the background of most of my days.

it got quieter.

i'm opening early access to a small group before it officially launches.

it's a gift. all i ask in exchange is honest feedback via a short form after you've used it.
