FrameTrellis Development Log: Working Toward v1.0.0 🎬
Development toward the first stable release of FrameTrellis is underway!
FrameTrellis is an open-source, local-first desktop video editor built with C++20, Qt 6/QML, MLT and FFmpeg.
The project is focused on bringing together the essentials of desktop video editing while keeping media and projects on the user's own computer.
What is already there?
The current development version has an editing foundation that includes multi-track timelines, media importing, clip trimming and splitting, preview playback, transitions, undo/redo, autosave and recovery, and MP4 export.
There is still plenty of engineering work to do before v1.0.0 is ready to be called a stable release.
What I'm focusing on
The journey involves more than adding visible features. Testing editing workflows, improving reliability, documenting limitations, addressing bugs and preparing releases are all important parts of making the software useful.
I'll share updates based on actual progress, including features, fixes, testing improvements and lessons learned.

Feedback, testing and documentation contributions are valuable ways to help an open-source project grow.
Financial support is entirely optional, but it can help support continued independent development. Thanks to everyone who takes an interest in FrameTrellis and its progress.
The first stable v1.0.0 release is still ahead. More development updates will follow as real milestones are completed.
