About Peter Sandström
Hi, I'm Peter, and I build kit.
kit is an open-source command-line tool that takes a project from "git clone" to a working, secret-safe development environment with a single command. It installs the right tool versions, pulls your secrets from a vault instead of leaving them in plaintext, sets up sensible git hooks, and runs the security scanners you already trust (Semgrep, Trivy, Socket, trufflehog and friends).
Zero LLM calls, local-first, and fully deterministic: it does the same thing every time, on your machine, with nothing phoning home.
kit is also built for the way a lot of us code now, with AI agents in the loop. It gives tools like Claude Code and Codex a reliable, shared way to set up an environment and stay inside guardrails, so you and your agent always start from a known-good state.
It is free and MIT-licensed, and it is going to stay that way. Your support goes straight back into development time: more scanners, more vaults, broader stack detection across web, mobile and backend, and faster fixes when something breaks.
If kit ever saved you an afternoon of setup pain, or caught a secret before it leaked, a coffee genuinely helps keep the roadmap moving. Thank you.
