Zetwerk IPO: Early Investors Set for Up to 38X Returns Through the Offer for Sale

Zetwerk’s upcoming IPO is set to deliver multi-fold returns to several of its earliest backers, with Kae Capital and Kalysta Capital expected to earn around 38X on their investments, according to Entrackr’s analysis of the price band and offer documents.

imageHere’s how the numbers stack up. The IPO is priced at Rs 143-151 per share and aims to raise Rs 5,012 crore, made up of a fresh issue of Rs 2,830 crore and an offer for sale of 14.45 crore shares worth roughly Rs 2,182 crore. At the upper end of the band, Zetwerk is seeking a valuation of about Rs 25,583 crore, close to $2.7 billion.

The OFS is where the early-investor payday sits. Lightspeed Venture Partners is the largest selling external shareholder, offloading shares worth Rs 426.9 crore. Peak XV Partners will sell Rs 353.5 crore worth, translating to roughly 9.3X returns, while Accel is set to make around 19.3X on its Rs 181.5 crore share sale. The biggest multiples belong to the earliest cheques: Kae Capital sells Rs 189.8 crore worth at an average acquisition cost of just Rs 3.94 per share, which works out to about 38.3X, and Kalysta Capital sells Rs 63.3 crore worth at the same multiple.

The dates are close. Anchor bidding is on October 14, the issue opens on October 15, allotment is likely on October 21, and listing is expected on BSE and NSE on October 23. Up to 75% of the net issue is reserved for institutional buyers, 15% for non-institutional investors and 10% for retail.

The reality check is worth noting. Zetwerk generated Rs 15,913 crore in operating revenue in FY26, yet it still reports a net loss, with finance costs of Rs 366 crore weighing on the bottom line. In the April-June 2026 quarter, revenue rose 55.4% to Rs 4,117.9 crore and the net loss narrowed to Rs 732.9 crore from Rs 1,368.4 crore a year earlier. Part of the fresh issue is earmarked for debt repayment, which is central to the profitability story.

A 38X return on a cheque written years before the IPO is exactly the kind of outcome that keeps early-stage investing alive, and Zetwerk’s listing will show how public markets value a loss-making but fast-growing manufacturing platform.
