Ultrahuman Raises $70 Million from Qualcomm, Alpha Wave, Nexus and Others to Build a New Human-Computer Interface for Health

Bengaluru-based wearable tech company Ultrahuman has raised $70 million in a funding round led by Qualcomm Ventures, with participation from US diagnostics giant Labcorp, Alpha Wave, Blume Ventures, Nexus Venture Partners, Alteria Capital and other investors, valuing the company at around $365 million, roughly 3X its $120 million valuation back in 2023.

Here's how the round is structured. Of the $70 million, $65 million comes in as primary equity while $5 million is debt financing, according to founder and CEO Mohit Kumar. The fresh capital will go toward accelerating research and development across sensing, AI, miniaturised electronics and health algorithms, while deepening investment in clinical science and research, all in service of a much bigger ambition than just making smart rings.

Here's the pivot that makes this round genuinely interesting. Ultrahuman isn't just raising money to sell more rings, it's repositioning itself from a wearable health company into what it calls a human-computer interface company built around the human body. Kumar put it simply, for the longest time computers have understood almost everything about the world except the person using them, and Ultrahuman wants systems that understand the body continuously and translate its signals into everyday, actionable intelligence, not just another dashboard full of data.

The Qualcomm angle adds real weight here. Beyond the investment, Ultrahuman is actively working with Qualcomm on a new ring powered by the chipmaker's own silicon, aiming to let the ring run software directly on the device, everything from AI interactions to eventually gesture-based controls and games. Qualcomm Ventures' Quinn Li framed the bet as a wager on personal, ambient AI, calling Ultrahuman a pioneer in making personalized health insights effortless.

The scale of ambition is concrete too. Founded by Mohit Kumar and Vatsal Singhal, who previously sold their logistics startup Runnr to Zomato in 2017, Ultrahuman is now targeting a $200 million annual revenue run rate by January 2027, built around its flagship Ring, Blood Vision, continuous glucose monitoring and its Jade AI biointelligence system.

From tracking sleep and glucose to potentially becoming a full computing platform worn on your finger, Ultrahuman's $70 million bet is a sign that the smart ring category is growing up fast.
