QNu Labs Raises Rs 200 Crore in Series A1 Round to Scale India's Quantum-Safe Cybersecurity Stack

Bengaluru-based deep-tech cybersecurity company QNu Labs has raised Rs 200 crore in a Series A1 funding round co-led by the National Quantum Mission and Speciale Invest, with participation from Sony Innovation Fund, Gaja Capital and Artha Ventures, taking its total capital raised to date to Rs 375 crore.

Here's what QNu Labs actually builds. Founded in 2016 by Srinivasa Rao Aluri and Sunil Gupta and incubated at IIT Madras, the company develops quantum-safe infrastructure and platform technologies, including Quantum Key Distribution, Quantum Random Number Generation, and Post-Quantum Cryptography, patented, certified, military-grade solutions already deployed to secure critical infrastructure across government, banking and BFSI sectors, both in India and globally.

The fresh capital has a clear, multi-pronged roadmap. Part of it will fund QNu's contribution to a government-approved RDI project to build the technology backbone of India's Quantum Secure and Sensing Networks. The rest will accelerate R&D, deepen the company's technology leadership, expand its stack into quantum sensing and AI, and scale sales and go-to-market operations across India and international markets.

The timing here isn't incidental. A Department of Science and Technology report from May 2026 sets a target for quantum resilience across India's critical information infrastructure by 2029, with wider enterprise adoption of post-quantum cryptography expected by 2033. As quantum computing and AI increasingly threaten to break existing encryption systems, governments and enterprises worldwide are treating this shift as long-term infrastructure planning rather than a purely research problem, and roughly 80% of this round came from new global investors, a signal of genuinely international conviction in the space.

Co-founder Sunil Gupta framed it simply: India moved early into the quantum era, and with implementation timelines now published across sectors, quantum-safe technology is shifting from policy conversation to commercial deployment. Gaja Capital's Gopal Jain went further, calling quantum-safe security "national infrastructure," just as essential to a digital economy as power and transport are to a physical one.

From a decade of building the science to now scaling adoption globally, QNu Labs' Series A1 is a bet that the science is done, and the real work now is deployment.
