Practo Elevates Jagnoor Singh to CEO, Founder Shashank ND Steps Up as Executive Chairman
Healthcare platform Practo has announced a new leadership structure as it enters its next phase of growth. Founder and CEO Shashank ND Singh has been elevated to Managing Director and Executive Chairman, while former Chief Operating Officer Jagnoor Singh has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, effective September 1, 2026.
Here's how the roles split going forward. As Executive Chairman, Shashank will continue to oversee Practo's overall vision, product and strategy, while sharpening his focus on long-term innovation, capital strategy, inorganic growth and corporate development, essentially stepping back from day-to-day operations to think bigger picture. Jagnoor Singh, who joined Practo as COO in January 2025, takes charge of overall strategy, growth and operations across the company's global markets.
The timing reflects genuine momentum, not distress. Practo said the change comes as the company continues growing 40% year-on-year and has stayed profitable for the last two and a half years, a rare combination in Indian consumer tech, and the kind of position from which founders typically choose to bring in operational leadership rather than being forced into it.
Jagnoor's background adds real weight to the move. Before joining Practo, he held senior operating roles at Bharti Airtel, Unacademy and OYO, and since joining as COO, he has been credited with strengthening the company's growth strategy, operational execution and expansion into new markets. In his own statement, Jagnoor said his conviction in the opportunity ahead has deepened, with a clear focus going forward on scaling globally, deepening Practo's role across the healthcare ecosystem, and harnessing AI to strengthen products and improve healthcare outcomes.
The bigger picture here is worth noting. Founded 18 years ago in 2008 by Shashank ND and Abhinav Lal, Practo's consumer platform connects users with more than 700,000 doctors and healthcare providers, while its care-navigation platform spans more than 2,400 cities globally, and the company is now pursuing consumer-business growth in the UAE and US alongside continued B2C, B2B and AI expansion in India.
From founder-led hustle to a structured leadership split, Practo's reshuffle is a signal of a company confident enough in its foundation to build its next chapter with a dedicated operator at the helm.
