OTPless Appoints Former BharatPe and Genwise Executive Geetanshu Singla as CTO, Completing a Full Leadership Reset

Bengaluru-based identity and access management startup OTPless has appointed Geetanshu Singla, formerly head of technology at BharatPe and co-founder of Genwise, as its new Chief Technology Officer.

imageHere’s what Singla will actually own. He will oversee engineering, product development, platform architecture, reliability and security across OTPless’s authentication and fraud prevention stack, which includes Silent Network Authentication, WhatsApp authentication, device intelligence and passkeys. In simple terms, he will be responsible for the technology behind how some of India’s largest consumer platforms let their users log in.

His background makes this a natural fit. Singla previously led engineering at BharatPe, where he served as Vice President of Technology and worked closely with OTPless co-founders Satyam Nathani and Tanmay Sagar during the fintech company’s early growth. After leaving in 2023, he co-founded Genwise, a lifestyle app helping senior citizens adopt digital services, which raised a $3.5 million seed round led by Z47 before shutting down in December 2025. He then spent about a year as an engineering leader at Singapore-based wealthtech platform Syfe before joining OTPless.

The timing is part of a bigger story. This appointment lands nearly ten months after the previous CTO, Anubhav Mathur, stepped down in January 2026, and it completes a rapid leadership reshuffle. On September 18, OTPless elevated Nathani to CEO and Sagar to COO, and on October 1 it named early team member Manas Poddar as Chief Business Officer. Singla’s arrival fills the last major seat at the top.

Sagar framed the hire around trust, noting that for OTPless’s customers, login is the front door to their entire business, and that Singla’s experience building and running technology at unicorn scale strengthens the technical confidence customers place in the company. Singla himself described the move as coming back home, given how closely he worked with Nathani and Sagar at BharatPe.

There’s a useful lesson in the founder journey too. A startup shutting down isn’t the end of a career, Singla’s path from BharatPe to Genwise to Syfe to OTPless shows how experience gained from a failed venture can become exactly what the next company needs.

From a closed startup to the CTO’s seat, Singla’s return signals that OTPless is serious about rebuilding its leadership to scale passwordless authentication in India.
