Medicine Quick Commerce Platform Rio Health Raises Rs 43.08 Crore to Expand Across Delhi-NCR

Delhi-NCR-based Rio Health, a quick commerce platform for medicines and healthcare essentials, has raised $4.5 million, around Rs 43.08 crore, in a pre-Series A funding round led by Version One Ventures, with existing investors Xeed Ventures, Good Capital and Amplify also participating in this fully closed, all-equity round.

Here's how the capital breaks down. Version One Ventures put in the largest share at Rs 21.30 crore, followed by Xeed Ventures at Rs 11.84 crore, Good Capital Fund II at Rs 9.47 crore, and Amplify IV PCC contributing Rs 47 lakh, together valuing Rio Health at roughly Rs 170 crore post-money. This takes the company's total funding to Rs 62.24 crore, following an earlier Rs 19.16 crore raised across previous rounds.

Here's what Rio Health actually does. It runs a WhatsApp-based medicine delivery platform, delivering prescription medicines, personal care, baby care and other health essentials across Delhi-NCR in 20 to 30 minutes. The startup currently processes more than 30,000 orders a month, with an average order value between Rs 600 and Rs 700, and claims nearly 80% repeat usage, a strong signal that customers are coming back, not just trying it once.

The fresh capital has a clear roadmap. Rio Health plans to expand its dark store network from just three to more than 15 across Delhi-NCR, while strengthening the technology behind ordering, inventory management, local demand prediction and delivery operations. The company is targeting an annual run rate of more than Rs 150 crore over the next nine to 12 months.

Founder Ankur Agrawal framed the opportunity plainly, saying pharmacy is one of the clearest use cases for quick commerce, but medicine delivery still forces customers to choose between speed and availability, something Rio Health is trying to solve for both at once. Version One Ventures partner Boris Wertz added that India's pharmacy market needs more than fast delivery, it demands a wide assortment, accurate local demand planning and strong operational discipline, pointing to Rio Health's early traction and capital efficiency across its first three dark stores as what made the bet worthwhile.

The timing matters too. This raise comes as major quick commerce players like Zepto, Blinkit and Swiggy Instamart all push deeper into medicine delivery, meaning Rio Health isn't just building a niche business, it's racing to establish a specialist position before the giants fully move in.

From a three dark-store pilot to a 15-plus store expansion plan, Rio Health's bet is that speed alone won't win India's pharmacy delivery race, trust and reliability will.
