Indian Startup Funding Triples to $188.49 Million Between September 21-26, Led by Ultraviolette and Ema

Indian startups raised approximately $188.49 million across 17 deals between September 21-26, 2026, according to data compiled by Entrackr, marking a more than 3X jump from the $61.8 million raised the previous week.

Here's how the numbers break down. Two growth-stage deals accounted for the bulk of the capital, 12 early-stage deals contributed meaningfully too, and three additional rounds stayed undisclosed. The week also saw two key leadership appointments, one new fund launch, and one merger and acquisition, a genuinely busy stretch for an ecosystem that had been relatively quiet the week before.

The growth-stage story was dominated by two names. Electric mobility startup Ultraviolette secured $85 million in a round led by Yali Capital and TDK Ventures, with participation from Walden International chairman Lip-Bu Tan alongside existing investors, a notable vote of confidence from a high-profile global semiconductor and tech executive. Right behind it, enterprise AI startup Ema raised the remaining $77 million of its Series B round led by Creaegis, rounding out a combined $162 million from just these two deals, nearly 86% of the week's entire funding total.

Early-stage activity added real breadth beneath these mega-deals. Startups in this category together raised $26.49 million across 12 deals. Electric commercial mobility startup Drivn's Indian entity raised Rs 45 crore (about $4.7 million) in a seed round led by Avaana Capital. Diagnostics platform Disha, formerly known as Curelink, secured Rs 43.88 crore in a Series A round led by General Catalyst, with existing investor Elevation Capital also participating. Medicine quick-commerce platform Rio Health raised Rs 43.08 crore (around $4.5 million), and proactive AI startup Sol picked up $4 million from General Catalyst, Nexus Venture Partners and others. Several other startups rounded out the week, including fintech and brokerage platform Definedge, lab-grown diamond jewellery brand ONYA, healthtech startup Betterhood, and high-protein frozen food brand Protein Pantry.

The bigger picture here is straightforward. One or two large rounds can completely reshape a week's funding narrative, and this week is a clean example, strip out Ultraviolette and Ema, and the remaining activity looks a lot closer to the prior week's pace. It's a reminder that India's startup funding recovery in 2026 continues to be driven by concentrated, high-conviction bets rather than broad-based momentum.

From electric motorcycles to enterprise AI, this week's biggest checks show where global and domestic investors are placing their most confident wagers right now.
