Indian Startup Funding Drops 72% Week-on-Week to $113 Million, as 28 Startups Raise Capital Between October 5 and 10

Indian startups raised $113.35 million across 28 deals in the week of October 5 to 10, 2026, according to Entrackr’s weekly funding report, a sharp 72% fall from the $411.46 million raised by 24 startups in the previous week. The deal count rose, but the cheque sizes shrank.

imageHere’s how the week broke down. There were 3 growth-stage deals, 22 early-stage deals and 3 rounds where the amounts were not disclosed. Early-stage startups raised $58.05 million of the total, which means they accounted for roughly half of the week’s capital. The week also recorded 8 key appointments, 3 fund launches and 2 mergers and acquisitions.

Early-stage leaders set the tone. Photonic quantum technology startup Quanfluence led the early-stage pack with $10 million from Chiratae Ventures and Rainmatter, followed by edtech startup byteXL with $9 million from Elevar. Travel tech platform TravClan, financial information platform MoneyTruVa and biofortified staples brand Better Nutrition also raised funding but did not disclose amounts.

Other trackers add useful colour. Consumer brand DailyObjects was reported as the largest deal of the week with a Rs 332 crore round led by Xponentia Capital Partners, Anicut Capital and Axiom Asia, while Beyond Appliances raised Rs 110 crore in a Series B and Sunfox Technologies picked up Rs 67.81 crore in a Series A. Note that different trackers count deals differently, so totals vary slightly by source.

On the M&A side, Marico increased its stake in Satiya Nutraceuticals by an additional 24.09%, and Hoola Health acquired early-childhood development platform UpTodd to strengthen its paediatric care offerings.

The geography and stage data show where activity clustered. Bengaluru again led with 10 startup deals, followed by Delhi-NCR with 6 and Mumbai with 3. Seed rounds led the week with 13 deals, while pre-seed and Series A rounds each recorded 5 deals.

One quiet week doesn’t define a trend, and the prior week’s total was lifted by a handful of large cheques. But it’s a reminder that Indian startup funding remains lumpy, and a few big rounds can swing the weekly numbers dramatically in either direction.
