India's NDude Labs Leads $3 Million Series A in US Wellness Brand SuperMush

Mumbai-based healthcare and wellness investment firm NDude Labs has invested and led a $3 million Series A funding round in SuperMush, a US-based functional wellness brand, marking the firm's second major bet in the research-backed supplement space within weeks.

imageHere's what SuperMush actually builds. Founded in 2022 by Alli Schaper and Brian Friedman, the brand develops next-generation functional wellness products using ingredients such as nootropics, adaptogens and functional mushrooms, with a portfolio that includes Shilajit, Creatine and Lion's Mane gummies. Over the past year, SuperMush has expanded aggressively into physical retail, growing to more than 1,000 Target stores and building a presence across over 2,000 stores in the US, including Target and Sprouts, alongside direct sales through its own website and Amazon.

The fresh capital has a clear purpose. SuperMush plans to use the funding to expand its product portfolio, deepen investment in new formulations, and strengthen its team and customer support infrastructure as it scales across retail, direct-to-consumer and marketplace channels.

The NDude Labs angle is what makes this deal genuinely interesting. The firm, led by managing director Nitin Thakor and COO Vikram Sehgal, invests specifically in healthcare and wellness businesses across both India and the US. This SuperMush investment comes just weeks after NDude Labs backed Nutriventia, a Mumbai-based nutraceutical ingredients company, effectively giving the firm stakes at both ends of the supplement supply chain, an Indian maker of clinically studied, branded ingredients on one side, and an American consumer brand selling that kind of science-backed product directly into Target stores on the other.

Both co-founders framed this as validation for their next growth phase. Schaper called it an exciting step into SuperMush's next evolution, while Friedman said the goal is to build SuperMush into the number one premium functional supplement brand for active lifestyles, backed by NDude Labs' capital and team.

From Mumbai ingredient labs to Target shelves in America, NDude Labs' cross-border wellness bet is a reminder that the global supplement industry increasingly runs through Indian capital and research, even when the consumer brand sits thousands of miles away.
