Ema Raises $77 Million Series B Led by Creaegis, Quadrupling Its Valuation to Scale AI Employees Globally

Mountain View-based enterprise AI startup Ema has raised $77 million in a Series B round led by Bengaluru-based Creaegis, with existing investors Accel, Section 32 and Prosus all increasing their stakes. The round takes Ema's total funding to $140 million and more than quadruples its valuation since its previous round.

Here's what Ema is actually building. Founded in 2023 by former Google and Coinbase executive Surojit Chatterjee alongside ex-Okta leader Souvik Sen, Ema builds what it calls "AI Employees", orchestrated teams of AI agents that plan, execute, check their own work, and route approvals across HR, IT and finance workflows, integrating with more than 250 business applications a company already uses, with humans overseeing critical decisions.

The traction numbers here are genuinely striking for a Series B company. Ema counts Wipro, Hitachi, ADP and PwC among its customers, reports over 50 active enterprise deals, more than 1 million active users, roughly 180% net dollar retention, and 50-fold revenue growth over two years, with more than $150 million in bookings. At one top-five global systems integrator alone, Ema supports over 240,000 associates across 65 countries and handles nearly 2.9 million employee queries a year.

Creaegis, led by Prakash Parthasarathy, former CIO of Premji Invest, said many agentic AI companies have compelling demos but few have proven they can actually deliver in production at enterprise scale, and that distinction is exactly what drove the firm's conviction here. Ema's own pitch reinforces that positioning too, arguing that most enterprise AI vendors are really services businesses in disguise, with every deployment needing its own consultant-heavy project, while Ema is betting on product economics instead.

The fresh capital will go toward two clear priorities, expanding Ema's go-to-market organisation and continuing investment in its enterprise AI platform, as the company pushes deeper into Asia-Pacific and other global markets.

There's a broader signal worth noting too, a Bengaluru-based investor leading a Series B round for a Mountain View-headquartered startup shows just how global and India-connected the capital chasing enterprise AI agents has become this cycle.

From consultant-heavy AI pilots to production-scale AI Employees, Ema's $77 million round is a bet that the next phase of enterprise software isn't about seats, it's about outcomes.
