Deep-Tech Energy Startup Adiabatic Technologies Raises Rs 8.3 Crore Seed Round to Scale Battery Manufacturing
Pune and Ahilyanagar-based Adiabatic Technologies has raised Rs 8.3 crore, roughly $1 million, in a seed funding round co-led by Malpani Ventures and Avinya Ventures, with participation from Appreciate Capital, DeVC, Operators Studio and UPES Incubator.
Here's what Adiabatic actually builds. Founded in 2022 by IIT Hyderabad alumnus Darshan Meher, the company designs and manufactures customised lithium-ion battery packs, smart chargers and proprietary Battery Management Systems for OEMs operating in high-reliability industries, the kind where a battery failure simply isn't an option. Unlike standardised battery suppliers, Adiabatic engineers its solutions in-house, from cell selection and pack architecture to thermal management and BMS design, targeting applications that need high discharge rates, rapid charging and precise battery monitoring.
The traction already speaks for itself. Adiabatic has deployed more than 20,000 battery systems across over 25 OEMs, serving sectors as varied as robotics, defence, drones, agriculture equipment, electric vehicles and solar energy, an unusually broad footprint for a company just three years into its journey.
The fresh capital has a clear purpose. Adiabatic plans to expand its annual manufacturing capacity to 100 MWh, accelerate product development, strengthen its engineering team, and scale deployment of its battery platforms across emerging categories like robotics, autonomous mobile robots, industrial automation and unmanned aerial systems. This builds on an earlier Rs 1.1 crore angel round the company raised in November last year from Soonicorn Ventures and other investors.
The bigger picture makes this a space worth watching. As demand grows across India for intelligent, high-performance battery systems, in defence, drones, robotics and industrial automation alike, deep-tech energy startups like Adiabatic are positioning to compete with players such as EMO Energy, Clean Energy, Neuron Energy and Inverted Energy in what's becoming an increasingly crowded, increasingly important category.
From drones to defence equipment, Adiabatic's seed round is a bet that India-engineered battery intelligence is finally ready to scale.
