Deep-Tech Energy Startup Adiabatic Technologies Raises Rs 8.3 Crore Seed Round to Scale Battery Manufacturing
Pune and Ahilyanagar-based Adiabatic Technologies has raised Rs 8.3 crore in a seed funding round co-led by Malpani Ventures and Avinya Ventures, with participation from Appreciate Capital, DeVC, Operators Studio, and the UPES Incubator.
Here's what Adiabatic actually builds. Unlike standardised battery suppliers, the company designs and manufactures custom lithium-ion battery packs, smart chargers, and proprietary Battery Management Systems for OEMs operating in high-reliability industries, engineering everything in-house, from cell selection and pack architecture to thermal management. Its systems are built for applications demanding high discharge rates, rapid charging, and precise battery monitoring.
The fresh capital has a clear roadmap. Adiabatic plans to expand its annual manufacturing capacity to 100 MWh, accelerate product development, strengthen its engineering team, and scale deployment of its battery systems across robotics, defence, drones, electric mobility, marine, agriculture equipment, and industrial energy storage.
The traction so far backs up the ambition. Founded in 2022 by IIT Hyderabad alumnus Darshan Meher, Adiabatic has already deployed more than 20,000 battery systems across over 25 OEMs, spanning robotics, defence, drones, agricultural equipment, electric vehicles, and solar energy. This seed round follows a smaller Rs 1.1 crore angel round the company raised in November last year from Soonicorn Ventures and other angel investors, marking a clear step-up in institutional backing.
The bigger picture matters here too. Adiabatic now competes with players like EMO Energy, Clean Energy, Neuron Energy, and Inverted Energy, in a battery-tech space that's heating up fast as robotics, defence, and autonomous systems all scale their real-world deployment across India, and all need dependable, India-engineered power behind them.
From a research idea at IIT Hyderabad to powering robots, drones and defence equipment, Adiabatic's seed round is a bet that India's next generation of energy storage will be built, not imported.
